VILLA MAIREA

Architectural Design Studio - Session one 2011

Project two

A study of the program (how the building is used) for Villa Mairea - Alvar Aalto, 1937-39, Noormarkku, Finland.

A focus on the precise pattern of occupation and how this is embodied in the architecture with an examination of suggested life, implied use and program of the building via re-presented architectural terms.

This personal interpretation is achieved via an iterative series of meticulous studies, as follows.

A spatial & dimensional study of circulation within Villa Mairea
